Spreading our wings

Spreading our wings
This year has been full of the most enormous changes.  I feel like I’ve had my horizons broadened in many areas of my life, both personal and professional.  Many of these changes have to do with becoming a mother for the first time, and learning how to balance different forms of creativity.  Almost a year and a half ago, I signed up for Flying Lessons because I felt ready to commit more deeply to my creative path.  During the first week of class, I got pregnant.  Talk about sparking my creativity!  It wasn’t until this summer, baby in arms, that I was able to return and complete the course.   Now I understand the importance of being part of an artistic community.  Even though I’m physically exhausted, I’ve never been more awake. Thank you, ladies, for witnessing me and for allowing me to witness you as we spread our wings.   Enjoy the blog hop, everyone!

  1. Hi Jennifer, congratulations on becoming a mum, such a special time, and wow congratulations on completing Flying Lessons and keeping on track with your creative path. It’s funny how things come about and where life takes us. I think I’m finally starting to understand that it’s never something we can be sure of. I’m certainly not where I thought I’d be, but I am loving every minute of this journey. I too am a mum, I have 2 boys 1 and 3 so am busy, busy, busy doing the juggling act. I won’t lie the lack of tiredness doesn’t ease up necessarily but as long as you are “awake” as you described it, you’ll continue to fly higher and higher. Enjoy sweetie and so lovely to be flying along side you. Liza xxx

  2. Hi Jennifer. Glad to have a chance to blog hop over to check yours out. Looking forward to seeing what you put into your etsy shop. Please share with the FB group when you do so.

  4. Jennifer- your photo’s are just breath-taking!! I so wish I could take pictures like that!! I luv your blog, and I am so glad to have visited it during this blog hop!!

  5. Your pictures are so beautiful – so clear and crisp. I am impressed with all you do as a first time mom! Your little girl is very blessed to have you for a mother as I know you are blessed by her. Sometimes people think children get in the way of them following their dreams, but they add so much to life that can fuel our creativity. Enjoy this time, it will be over before you know it. There are many things that can wait, but our children should not be one of them.

  6. Congratulations on your “creativity”! I can’t imagine how you have manage to participate in this wonderful flying and a new baby. Glad that you’re among the fliers.

  7. You truly are a creative. Your photos are really wonderful. I applaud you for getting back to class after the birth of your daughter, it would have been easy to let it slip. Thanks for hopping with all of us.

  10. I like what you said about being exhausted but never feeling more alive. I feel the same way–I am literally invigorated by everyone in this group as well as the promise and the hope we all have for ourselves and our creativity!
